Vladimir Harkonnen sind Ende 2006 hervorgegangen aus einer Fusion der gerade aufgelösten Bands BONEHOUSE (Kiel – Geschrei & Gebrüll: Philipp Wolter) und 2ND ENGINE (Rendsburg - Gitarren: Zarc Zölck & Nils Neigenfind, Drums: Eric Zölck), feist addiert um den parallel bei N.O.M. zockenden Bassisten Andi Uranus.
Aber erst musste man einen Namen finden – da sich viele der Texte um totalitäre Systeme oder auch mal fiktive fiese Halunken drehen, landete man bei einem der hässlichsten Schurken der Literatur- und Filmgeschichte: Dem schwärenübersäten Baron VLADIMIR HARKONNEN aus der Romanserie „Der Wüstenplanet“/“Dune“ von Frank Herbert
Als Stil kristallisierte sich etwas heraus, was die Band „Thrash flavoured Hardcore“ taufte. Der Release des letzten Albums „Into Dreadnought Fever“ ist nun knapp zwei Jahre her. Nun stehen Vladimir Harkonnen vor der nächsten Veröffentlichung, bei der es sich um eine 4-Track EP auf einer 12'' Vinyl mit dem Namen „Ticking Bomb Scenario“ handelt. Drei der neuen Songs sind während der Aufnahmen zum letzten Album entstanden. Hinzu kommt ein Coversong von „Slime“. Die Aufnahmen fanden im „Demolition Room“ (u.a. Smoke Blow & The Creetins) in Kiel statt. Gleich eine Handvoll Labels ist an dem Release beteiligt: toanol records, Janml Records/Maja von Lobeck, Frontcore Records, Network of Friends und Break the Silence Records. Die Platte ist ab Frühjahr 2016 erhältlich.

Their last record "Into Dreadnought Fever" was released about two years ago. Now the next release by Vladimir Harkonnen is due. It's a four track EP on 12" vinyl and has got the title "Ticking Bomb Scenario". Three of the songs were recorded during the recording session for the last record. The forth one is a cover song by Slime. All songs were recorded at the "Demolition Room" in Kiel, Germany. A full hand of labels is involved in the release this time: toanol records, Janml Records/Maja von Lobeck, Frontcore Records, Network of Friends und Break the Silence Records. The EP releasedate is on 29th of april 2016, but it will be shipped as soon as possible.
